Risk To Minors

This page documents a series of research designed to test the systems deployed by three Very Large Online Platforms—TikTok, Instagram and X(Twitter)—and the risks that these systems may create for minors. Each report is designed to consider platform’s compliance with the requirements of the EU’s Digital Services Act. It includes initial evaluations of:

• Content moderation systems
• Algorithmic recommender systems
• Understandability of the platform for younger users
• Ad manager systems
• Safety-by-design settings
